River Thames Cruises have created a Afternoon Tea cruise to celebrate Queen Elizabeth's Golden Jubilee.
Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor was born on 21st April 1926 in Mayfair, London, the first child of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth.
Elizabeth was privately educated at home before serving her first public duties in the Auxiliary Territorial Service during WW2
In November 1947, Elizabeth married Philip Mountbatten. Philip and Elizabeth had four children; Charles - Prince of Wales, Anne - Princess Royal, Andrew - Duke of York and Prince Edward - Duke of Wessex.
On 6th February 1952, Elizabeth was on holiday in Kenya, where she was informed that her father King George VI had died and consequently Elizabeth's immediate accession to the throne. Despite the dealth of Queen Mary in 1953, the coronation of Queen Elizabeth went ahead as planned on 2nd June 1953. The ceremony in Westminster Abbey was televised for the first time. Queen Elizabeth II is the Queen of 16 out of the 53 Member States in the Commonweath, Head of the Commonweath and Supreme Governor of the Chruch of England.
Elizabeth is the Longest reigning British Monarch as well as the longerst serving female head of state in history.
